What skills do you need to become a snowboard instructor?
I want a job on the weekends, but I still want to snowboard, so I figured this was a good way to go.
I’ve looked into it a little bit – I’m old enough, and they are hiring, so that’s good.
What skills do you need to be an instructor?
I consider myself pretty decent. I can get down a black diamond with ease – (the ones around here…I live where the mountains aren’t very big, lol).
What other kinds of things do you need to know / know how to do?
You need to have advanced riding skills, be able to ride at a minimum anywhere on the mountain. Resorts have so many instructors that you don’t necessarily need to be an expert in the moguls or the park but you should at least be able to get down any hill on the mountain with no problems. I know here as long as you have advanced riding abilities the supervisors will work with you and get you to where you need to be to start giving beginner lessons
